Full name of the ICANN The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number, meaning the network name and number registries. ICANN is a unique organizational purpose is to enhance the quality of the network, and is committed to the development of a global network. This differs from other organizations is very dependent on groups or individuals of membership or participation in a voluntary, the current ICANN participants all over the world, including network-related, computer engineer, businessman, activity groups, researchers and network users, and so on. ICANN has a voluntary team of about 20 people, their aim will be consistency between different views of the network integration, and these ideas into a network, enable network technology to continually develop. Current ICANN domain name and the IP system for development, are indispensable in the network technology, which is unique to open and do not belong to any of the people. Since the middle of 1980, ICANN has been studied in the realm of large and complex networks, ICANN has also encountered many difficulties, currently two of the Organization's biggest challenge is to use existing IP systems were inadequate, as well as the legitimacy and ownership of a domain name dispute. ICANN is currently responsible for three areas of the network, the domain system (Domain Name System), the IP system (the IP Address System), as well as network protocol system (the numbering of port and Protocol parameters). In order to manage these three systems, ICANN has set up three open organizations, namely Domain Name Supporting Organization, the Address Supporting Organization and the Protocol Supporting Organization. Overall, ICANN's task is to ensure the stable operation of the Internet's unique identifier systems, growth and progress.
