TAIPEI, Taiwan — Gemtek held its investor conference on Thursday, LTE, IP STB, and Home Automation will be their driving force in 2015. The company is a provider of Wireless Broadband solutions and WLAN products, offering a wide range of solutions from residential to business, Cloud Foundry is one of their next big things.
Gemtek Chairperson Chen Hong-wen said that after the two years of struggling as a network devices provider, it's time to enjoy better performance in 2015, and the three main product lines are Long Term Evolution (LTE), IP STB, and Home Automation.
“LTE business is bullish in 2015, and Gemtek has the wide ranges of product lines, currently the LTE small Cell is ready for volume production, and now having many inquiries from customers as well as the LTE users' CPE devices.” said Chen Hong-wen.
Chen Hong-wen suggested that judging from the current market trend, IP STB will integrate more functions that is high-priced, which means it is more commonly seen being tied up with the contract by telecommunication providers. STB is no doubt their important growth driver.
As the IoT era is coming, the company has been developing the Cloud Foundry to provide the cloud devices. Gemtek is not just an ODM/OEM company, with it also provides cloud services to customers. The goal is to offer total cloud solution while integrating both hardware and software together.
