TAIPEI, Taiwan — Taiwan Mobile debuted its built-in NFC smart band 2.0 on Monday in a bid to avoid getting lost. Thanks to the NFC technology, Carrying this band makes it easy to find back the lost love ones.
The NFC smart band 2.0 is made of PVC, there are a file number and looking number on it. With its built-in NFC chip, those who has the NFC smartphones can scan the chip to locate the lost ones by Global Positioning System (GPS), and it will automatically connect with the lookng center without downloading App.
Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into proximity, typically a distance of 10 cm or less.
However, NFC and Bluetooth are both short-range communication technologies that are integrated into mobile phones. NFC operates at slower speeds than Bluetooth, but consumes far less power and doesn't require pairing.
According to Taiwan Mobile, Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) statistics show that there are 130 thousand senior citizens living with Dementia, the company applied NFC technology into the smart band to avoid getting lost.
